This 4-class series blends the gentle, mindful movements of Feldenkrais and Body-Mind Centering with the elements of water, earth, air and fire, along with the first 3 aspects of Satipatthana meditation: body, feeling, and mind. We begin with somatic practices to help us release habitual patterns of tension in order to relax into a state of deep rest. This means that by the time we enter into meditation, our nervous systems are calm and our bodies open.


Each class includes:

  • Phase 1: Somatic Release
    • The Physiological Patterns : We unlock them to increase relaxation and freedom of breath.
    • The Shift: We shed habitual physical tension and regulate our nervous systems.
  • Phase 2: Sitting in Mindfulness
    • Deepened Awareness: We meditate on aspects of the body, feelings, and mind, with a primary focus on the body components of skin, flesh, and bones.
    • Elemental Alchemy: We increase mindful awareness of elements in nature as reflected in the body.
